At Simitri Group International, we take steps to protect the sensitive information provided to us by our clients.
We pledge to never disclose to a third party any sensitive information obtained from a client via e-mail, surveys and questionnaires, training workshops, coaching engagements, consulting projects, eLearning, vILT sessions, mobile apps, or by any other means unless given express permission from the client to do so. Any data that is stored digitally must be kept password protected in a secure environment and maintained in accordance with the latest IT security best practices.
Our IT security policies and practices include, but are not limited to, network security, e-mail security, data backup, guest access, malware protection, information retention, office facilities security, outsourcing, third party partnerships, incident response, and IT training of our staff.
We consider the services we deliver to our clients as important to the success of their businesses. We understand that any information shared from a client may be sensitive and treat it with the same vigilance with which we treat our own company data and intellectual property. We view this practice as fundamental to building a trusting relationship and as essential to our success as a consulting company.
Diversity and Inclusion
At Simitri Group International, we are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion.
The strength of our human capital and the diversity of our consultants are without a doubt the most valuable assets that we have. The very nature of our business requires that we hire and develop consultants who are broadly representative of the various ethnic, linguistic, and cultural groups of the countries in which we operate. This is key to ensuring that our learning solutions address the human-centred challenges that our global clients face. Our diversity allows us to provide the local business and cultural knowledge needed to help our clients solve complex communication and leadership problems and to achieve better business results in local markets.
Going far beyond hiring local talent, we embrace and encourage employee differences in age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, language, national origin, political affiliation, religion, disability, and veteran status. We firmly believe that these characteristics are what make each of our employees unique, and that feeling valued and included as a member of the Simitri family are key to employee success, both personally and professionally.
Simitri’s diversity initiatives include, but are not limited to, policies on recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, professional development, promotions, terminations, and the active development of a work environment that is built on equity and shared opportunity.
All Simitri employees are expected to treat others with dignity and respect at all times. Any employees found to have exhibited inappropriate conduct or behaviour against others will be subject to disciplinary action. Employees who believe they have been subjected to any kind of discrimination can seek assistance from a supervisor or partner. With leadership on diversity coming from the top, Simitri employees should feel comfortable sharing thoughts and feedback about discrimination and improving Simitri’s policies and practices – even directing any concerns to the most senior levels of the organisation. We welcome and encourage this feedback.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of Simitri’s DNA and has been since the foundation of the company. Not only are responsibility and social good at the core of our business (which focuses on developing others and improving the well-being of our clients), but we also take steps to engage and develop the communities in which we operate. As a result, the benefits of our efforts, such as our work with Tabitha in Cambodia or our drive to reduce our carbon footprint, now go well beyond Simitri and the work we deliver to our clients.
Simitri’s community programme covers a broad range of initiatives, from donating refurbished IT equipment to local charities to playing an integral role in building the first Tabitha school in Sapor Province, Cambodia, The Sue Huxley School, named in honour of our founding partner’s wife, Sue.
Simitri’s focus on sustainability has us moving our business towards paperless certification. In addition, we are reducing our carbon footprint by utilising natural light in the office to reduce energy consumption and by delivering more web-based consulting to reduce our many hours of flying. It is not always easy to achieve sustainability within a rapidly expanding global company, but we are continually reassessing our practices and are very positive about the progress we are making.
At Simitri Group International, we strive to grow our business in an environmentally sustainable way and have been cultivating eco-efficient practices to improve our energy management and resource conservation.
Our environmental footprint consists primarily of carbon emissions generated from business travel, office energy consumption, and printed materials delivered to our clients. We are committed to addressing all of these as a means of improving our overall environmental performance.
In so doing, we recognise the challenges of achieving a fully sustainable business. The strong increase in demand for our services and our expansion into emerging growth markets over the past year has resulted in an increase in air travel. We are now addressing this problem by hiring more local consultants based in locations where our work is delivered. This transition typically occurs as we develop the market to the point that we can take on full-time local hires. Additionally, we are encouraging more meetings to be conducted using web-based technologies to connect our people to our clients around the world.
To address emissions in other areas, we are monitoring and reducing office electricity consumption though best practices such as utilising natural light. We are also working with our clients to deliver more course material electronically in order to decrease the consumption of paper and energy required to print and ship course materials.
With these practices and others, Simitri is committed to becoming an environmentally responsible company and a model for others to follow.
