Team Leader's Guide for Meaningful Dialogue
Purpose
This toolkit is designed to help teams explore what creates energy, connection and progress in their everyday work.
Estimated Time: 30–60 minutes
Step 1: Individual Reflection (5 minutes)
Ask team members to write privately:
When do I feel most energised at work?
What recent small moment made a difference to me?
What drains my sense of progress?
Step 2: Small Group Dialogue (15 minutes)
Discuss:
What patterns are emerging?
Where do we already experience ordinary joy?
Where is it unintentionally blocked?
Encourage listening without interruption.
Step 3: Identify Micro-Practices (15 minutes)
As a group, identify:
One recognition practice to introduce.
One meeting shift to try.
One behaviour to reduce (e.g., interrupting, rushing).
Step 4: Commitment
Each team member shares:
One action I will take this week to contribute to ordinary joy.
Optional Follow-Up
Revisit the conversation in one month:
What changed?
What improved?
What needs refinement?
Small shifts compound.
